Foundation Day 1

On Friday we had several piles of brick and concrete blocks...
And by the end of the day today we had foundation walls!

This is the beginning of the exterior wall of our covered screened back porch. Because of the slope of the lot we are going to have an incredibly tall foundation in the back.

First Inspection

The footers were inspected today and passed. We have concrete!!!

In 24 hours. We have spent two years planning for this and I can't believe it is actually happening!

We Have Plans!!!!

We have worked for a year and a half to get to this point...we have official plans!!! And they are amazing! Our application for our building permit will be submitted tomorrow and two weeks from now we should be breaking ground. More to come...

So our contractor told us that a surveyor would be going out to the lot to stake out the house. We got to the lot and this is what we saw:

If you look in the far corners of the picture, you will see three little stakes (the fourth didnt make it into the picture). Dont get me wrong, at least something is happening, but come on, four stakes?!?! I expected there to be a little more definition to the house so I could sort of see how its going to sit on the lot. Regardless, its progress, hopefully in the next couple of weeks the permits will be issued and we can really get started.
